Julieta Averbuj (Barcelona 1986) is a curator and visual artist. Currently, she is the production coordinator at Editorial RM, a publishing house specializing in photography books. In her free time, she experiments with photography and film, and her works have been selected and exhibited at international film festivals, galleries, and publications.

El juego de la madalena
"El juego de la madalena" (The Madeleine Game) constitutes an exhibition proposal aimed at translating the essence of its eponymous book, published in 2022, into a physical space. Through the formal reinterpretation of images from the author’s own family archive, this exhibition invites viewers to reflect on how memory works.
Parting from photographs found in her father's album, the large-scale enlargements focus on seemingly small details, fleeting gestures, and ephemeral moments that involuntarily weave the chronicles of memory.
The focus on reframing prompts us to consider the very essence of memory as something incomplete and blurred. Just as the artist selects and reinterprets these images, the viewers also immerse themselves in the active construction of their own personal narratives.
