"The Others" is an ongoing project initiated in 2019. It consists of a series of candid portraits of pedestrians captured on the street using natural light. These individuals appear disconnected from their surroundings, in an introspective or absent-minded state. They are wandering beings who emerge from the darkness, both literally (the photographs are taken in transitional spaces from shadow to light, such as dimly lit alleyways or doorways) and symbolically, if we understand human existence as an erratic and bewildering period in which we momentarily emerge from eternal darkness.

Since these are unposed portraits, where the presence of the photographer is ignored, the subjects reveal themselves without a mask, appearing more vulnerable and transparent than they would in a posed portrait. This allows us to see beyond, if there is anything to see beyond the absolute void.
