Anna Muller

NETHERLANDS

Anna Muller is a contemporary collage artist whose work explores the boundaries of reality, creating visual universes rich in symbolism and emotion. Her interest in collage stems from the freedom this medium offers to imagine and recompose elements of reality, bringing them to life in new contexts.

Her works are often described as visual narratives, blending fragments of vintage images, varied textures, and contemporary motifs. Each piece reflects a personal exploration of themes such as memory, time, and transformation.

Inspired by Surrealist and Dadaist artists, Anna Muller infuses her collages with a dreamlike quality, where the lines between past and present, the known and the unknown, become blurred. Her work invites the viewer to embark on an introspective journey, where each composition tells a complex story, often tinged with nostalgia and mystery.

Mnemosys

Cadaqués, the pearl of Catalonia, is surrounded by numerous legends, many of which are tied to Salvador Dalí, who lived and worked there with his wife Gala for over 50 years. Fascinated by the sparkling sea and inspired by the stories of its local inhabitants, as well as by numerous works dedicated to these iconic figures, Anna began to feel this place on her skin.

The series ‘Mnemosys’ is a collection of analog collages that blend real photographs with elements of Dalí’s works, where the boundaries between reality and fiction blur. Inspired by Cadaqués, this collection draws from photographic archives of past years, incorporates elements of the master’s works, telling both true and fictional stories involving the famous artist, while immersing the reader in the unique atmosphere of this extraordinary place.
