Lei Davis uses photography to express and project her inner world. Her process is raw and spontaneous, her photos unposed. Her works are in fact personal stories which mirror her journey in self-discovery and exploration.

Using her photos as a starting point, she experiments with different techniques and media that could best tell her stories.  In 2019, she published her first artist’s book, Into the Deep, using photo transfer technique. Her second work, Swallowed, was released as an animated short film in 2020 and was shortlisted for the MAP Toulouse Prix du Film Photo 2021.

Most of her photos were taken underwater, where she feels most creative and connected with herself. In it, her stories and imagination take shape. From it, a universe of her own emerges.
