Marguerite Bornhauser was born in 1989 and lives in Paris. After studying literature and journalism at the Sorbonne in Paris, she joined the National School of Photography in Arles and graduated in 2015.
The artist works with color, light, life. She is one of those artists who have the talent to sublimate reality through the prism of their gaze. In an instant, nature, textures and materials come to life. Marguerite photographs, then assembles, constructs or reconstructs a story with her images. Her approach is neither documentary nor conceptual, she composes her photographic journey like music, in complete freedom.
Her work has been exhibited in different places: at the Museum of European Photography in Paris and at Paris Photo in 2019, in the streets of Cincinnati for the Cincinnati Art Museum, in Arles during the photography festival, in Deauville during the Festival des Contact boards, at the BETC agency, Agnès B, at the MAP Toulouse festival, in London.
Marguerite Bornhauser adds editorial work to her photographic research. Her first book, « Plastic Colors », was shortlisted for the Mack's First Book Award in 2015 and published in 2017. Her book "8" was published by Poursuite in 2018. In 2019, she published « Red Harvest » with the same publisher . She also collaborates with international magazines and newspapers as a photojournalist and portraitist, as well as a fashion photographer.
